Head Unit Question
Head Unit Question
Hey guys, question about head units, I know if you put after market speakers in w/o changing the head unit the sound quality decreases due to the different omage (sp?) in the speakers, is it the same with changing the head unit and not the speakers.
Im looking to change my head unit, but i want to keep my pioneer stock speakers, will it still sound the same and will the sub still work. Thanks, and sorry for the newb question!

whoever told you that was stupid... or had bad speakers anyway aftermarket speakers should sound a little clearer then stock but these stock speakers actually were pretty damn good in my opinion. but because of the ohm difference they aftermaket speakers should sound quieter. Anyway if you just changing out the head unit and not the speakers Most people would freak out about doing so because hooking up 2ohm speakers to a 4ohm headunit is very very bad... but remember we have the stock amp (i forget sometimes) so actually the ohm level doesnt matter since the amp is reciving the load and not the head unit. About sound it should sound clearer with the new head unit and it should work just fine (only problem that may happen is your sub wont be controlled by the normal "sub" control in the aftermarket hu so you would need to control it by the regular bass eq)
