So i got my new deck n im using GM13SR harness, I had to use the 2 plugs style. Now the head unit works but no sound. Where is the remote wire off the factory harness? or can i tap it into the fuse box and run it?

Why do you need the remote from the factory harness for the aftermarket headunit, everything u need is in the install kit u bought, and if your running an amp u use the blue and white wire from the aftermarket head unit u bought

You need to connect the Remote wire from the aftermarket deck to the blue (I think?) remote wire in the factory harness. You need to do this to power up the factory amplifier the same as you would with an aftermarket amp.

as soon as u plug in the install kit to the factory harness the remote wire will be connected too, shouldnt have to cut or splice anything, unless u hooked up the aftermarket wiring harness wrong, if u did that then it wont work right

my harness i got didn't have a remote coming off it. I called the vendor and they stated it should be on there. I even checked the remaining stock at the store there all the same missing the remove wire for the 16 and 14 pin setup. Its only included on the 24 pin. Im giving up and getting the lan04 already.

No it isn't....

Find the remote wire that is coming out of the harness on your new deck. Connect it to the blue wire in the factory harness and it will work. Trust me, I was stumped on this too when I installed a new radio in my 06.

You don't need the LAN harness unless you have, and want to keep OnStar.

agreed but he said his harness didn't have a remote wire in it (not surprising)

I think he was refering to the GM13SR harness not having a remote wire, which is correct. But the harness from the new radio most definitely should have one.
