Heated Seat Swap?

so i have an 06 SS/NA with heated leather, adn i have a friend who is looking to trade in his 08 Sport. He did a TC interior swap (Black/Grey). hes willing to give me a killer deal, but i want to know if it is possible to remove the heating elemenets from the factory seats. if so ill pull them out and put them in the TC seats.

im sure i can pull out the pass. seat and check it out, but if someone already knows that'll make it easier. if not then i guess ill do a how to if it is possible.

You'll have to completely dismantle the seats to do this.

i honestly think it will only work with leather... i have never seen a non leather(type)(real leather or fake) heated seat...

it might be a fail...

My ss/sc came with the heated leather seats stock. About a year and a half ago I bought the ss/tc seats (obviously not heated). I took a day and opened up all the seats, swapped the heating elements and wiring, and bam! Heated ss/tc seats. Best of both worlds, definitely one of the best things I've done on the car. It's honestly pretty easy and really straight forward. Only thing I had to buy some some glue to hold the heating pad to the foam of the seat. Took 2-ish hours per seat because you have to totally open all of them up. Not hard, just kinda time consuming. As far as I know, I'm the first (and I think only) LSJ to have done this.

Nope. There's one here in Chicago that's done the same thing. We also have one that's an LSJ with heated Recaro's. We're serious about having our heated seats here.

Just glued in. Should be a real simple sway for you. Just take seats out, take wiring, heating elements, and the control module (little black box under the seat) and swap over to the TC seats. I installed all the factory equipment in my TC last winter and everything mounts up fine. It will just be a million times easier for you seeing as all your wiring is already in place.

I would suggest taking a look at the couple of how-tos that people have made (I think there may be two), because you may need to trim/cut some of the element, just don't cut through any of the wires/lines you see inside the element!!
