help! amp randomly shutting off

For the last couple weeks, my amp has been randomly shutting off and turning on. I've checked all the connections and they're tight. Whether my stereo is on or off, it does it and when it does, my sub makes a sudden popping noise. Anyone have any guesses before I drive a few hours to take it back?

That started happening to me a few weeks before my sub got fried. My amp was going into protection mode. What kind of sub and amp do u have?

do you have a line output converter with the stock radio or aftermarket radio?

Popping makes it sound like power issues.

Ya I've got it hooked up to the stock deck. I'm going to hook it up in my GFs car and see if it turns off

popping with loc also sounds like it could be interference or LOC issues but that doesn't really effect if the amp turns on or off, so ya connection or bad amp for that
