help! speakers cutting in and out. (yes...not a cobalt)

hey guys, i have a 91 crx si, stock head unit (tape player and everything, lol).
i just recently replaced the 4 speakers that came with the car with brand new Infinity Reference speakers.

now on to the problems.

ever since i have owned the car, the front left speakers randomly(everyonce in a while) cuts off. like completely. and then randomly comes on when it decides to. I thought replacing them would fix it. it did....or so i thought. a little less often, it still cuts off completely. but NOW...very often the built in tweeters on the front left AND right cut in and out. and i listen to metal, so those symbals are starting to **** me off! The rears seem to be working fine, although the rears play a little more of the lows than the fronts. But i just figured that's how it was supposed to be.
The wiring job to the head unit is not very amazing. It is even wired directly to the battery! i dont even know where the original wire is that it goes to. it was cut, and then directed to the battery. It's annoying having to turn off the radio every time i turn off the car.

any help is much appreciated!

If you want to not have to turn the radio off every time you turn the car off the with the red wire coming from your HU, use a Fuse Tap and run it to the fuse box for 12v igniton source.
You can run the yellow wire (perm memory or constant power) to the battery if you want just make sure you put a fuse in line.
You can try and just run a fresh line of speaker wire to the speaker thats cutting out, if it sloves the problem then its the wiring if not then its the HU.
I though maybe this might help you

1988-91 Honda CRX Stereo Wiring

Constant 12V+ Blue/White
Switched 12V+ Yellow/Red
Ground Black
Illumination Red/Black
Dimmer n/a
Antenna Driver's Pillar
Front Speakers 5 1/4" Doors
Left Front (+) Blue/Green
Left Front (-) Gray/Black
Right Front (+) Red/Green
Right Front (-) Brown/Black
Rear Speakers 6 1/2" Side Panels
Left Rear (+) Blue/Yellow
Left Rear (-) Gray/White
Right Rear (+) Red/Yellow
Right Rear (-) Brown/White

^^^ Thats how I start every trouble shoot by checking the seat belts

No for real re-do the wiring on the hu. If that doesnt solve it then the factory speaker wires might be grounding out somewhere, maybe by the seat belts.

try and move the fade to each speaker individually and pump the volume. if it cuts out go over the wiring but you will need to go over the wiring completely anyway. crimp of heat shrink with electric tape and the power wiring harness.

thanks everyone for the replies. i found out one of the speaker wires wasnt completely connected, i fixed that, and it doesnt cut out so much, but if i move the wire around it still cuts out, so i guess next i will try a whole rewire.
