HID help needed
HID help needed
Hello all,
I recently bought 8k bulbs because one of mine went out. Heres my problem. I have two different ballasts which makes the lights appear slightly different colors but I'm fine with that. The problem is that the right (passenger side) hid likes to act up and flickers ever so slightly a few times every second. Its hardly noticable but if you look you can see it. Also, the passenger side bulb decides to turn off sometimes and can be turned back on at random if I turn the lights off/on. Any help?

Why is everyones solution to HID problems a relay?
My first guess would be your ballast is a dud, but swap ballasts from one side to the other and see if that's the problem.
There could also be a bad ground, these electronic ballasts get pretty bitchy if they don't have a good power connection and will shut off for a bit until the internal fuse resets itself.
Or just install an all magical magnetic switch called a relay and live forever in Valhalla.

Someone said that a week or so ago when I asked them about this problem, just didn't want to spend the money right now haha. Thanks for the help everyone, appreciate it. I'm going to swap ballasts tomorrow and go from there. Damn these lights...
