hooking up neon

Im looking to install red lighting to the inside of my front bumper so it shines on the intercooler making the graphic visible at night. Would it be alright to splice the wiring into the foglight wiring so the foglight switch controls both. I dont want to cut holes or add extra switches to the car. If this is a bad idea what would a better one be for installation?

I wouldn't power it directly from the fog light wiring. You can use a relay and run a power wire from the fuse panel and just use the fog light wire to turn them on via the relay. Same kinda way an HID relay harness works.

I see you are in Michigan. Be careful if you do install this, it is illegal to have a red neon lit up on your car on a roadway.

Other then that, I agree with what BooSSted recommended.

I had no idea, I appreciate that bit of info. Is it just red neon thats illegal or is it neon in general?

In Ohio, you can have any color neon. But red and blue HAVE to be on the bottom of the car, and facing the ground. I'd think most states are the same.
