How can I test my old sub in the ss?

I've looked thru nearly every post in the audio forum, and can't find it.
I have my old sub which is enclosed, 2 10's I believe. on the back, there is a place to add 2 wires, per each speaker.
I figured to test it out, I would tie into the, what I thought was 2 wires, into the stock sub, and see how it sounded. However I'm not sure which wires to tie into, I can see 4 going into the stock sub, and theres not much room to try and take a little plastic off of a wire, but I do not want to cut it.
What wires should I connect to and run into the back of my sub to test it out? It's not new, so I'm probably not going to keep it, it's from my other car, like I said, I just want to test it and see how it sounds.

Thanks.

oh, I mean the back of my sub takes bare wires, you just strip it and put it in the back, and it clamps down on it. So all I think I need is just a wire stripped at both ends, connect one to the back of my sub, then the other side, not sure where it goes, as theres 4 wires per sub/speaker in the car. What are the 2 blue ones for? Are they coming from the amp?
If so, I'm guessing I could tie into the other 2 wires, which are black & red.

Nevermind, after removingthe tape from the rear left speaker, theres only 2 wires, I tied into that, and the sub still wasn't working. So I'm taking it apart again to make sure everything is still intact.
*edit*
I hooked up a small "sub" you see at walmart, i'm not sure what its good for, or how it got in the garage, but I hooked it up to the back left speaker, and I could see it barely working.
I think i'm just gonna get mad enough and take it to a shop and just have one put in.
