How to power my Sirius tuners?

Thanks to everyone for their responses on my last question about where to put the tuners. I have one last question and I should be good. This time it's about powering those sirius boxes.

I will have two sirius boxes, the Pioneer CD-SB10 and Sirius SC-C1 that will need power. I haven't done this before so basically what's the best way to power them? I have read about using those Fuse Tap things (something like this - http://www.wiringproducts.com/index1.html) that you connect to the positive prong of a fuse (sunroof's fuse or windshield wiper fuse were suggested) and then just connect the wire to that fuse tap.

BUT, what is the purpose of all those spare fuse slots I see in my owner's manual? Can't I simply use one of those slots and get power from one of them, thus not having to tap into another accessories power?

Thanks again! You all have been a great help!

well I am getting the Pioneer AVIC-F700BT and need the Pioneer CD-SB10 and SC-C1 to get sirius working. From the looks of things the SC-C1 already draws power from the CD-SB10, so I only need to power one extra thing.

To tap into the radio harness, if I am clamping wires together, can I have three wires in one clamp? For example, the stock harness will have a yellow power wire that will need to connect to the aftermarket HU yellow wire. can I toss in the yellow power wire from the CD-SB10 and clamp all three together in one?

as long as you either use crimp caps/butt connectors that ar crimped or solder the connection. tieing the wires together with or without tape or the twist on wire nuts arent going to fly

Thanks for the speedy responses EmperorJJ1

Sorry, I meant crimp, not cramp. So all three together is fine? The power wire for the sirius box has an inline 2A fuse on it. Plus it needs 14.4V. With that in mind, I can still crimp the sirius power wire, new headunit power wire, and the stock harness power wire together? Those specs on the sirius box aren't gonna cause damage or take too much power away from the aftermarket HU?

You do not need either of those to get Sirius working on the AVIC-F700BT.

All you need for that is the Pioneer SIR-PNR2. Trust me on this as I have the 700BT running Sirius in my car perfectly with only the SIR-PNR2

Oh, well I wasn't sure if that would work or not as the Pioneer website specifically mentions the SC-C1 and the CD-SB10. Since the SIR-PNR2 is no longer being made and the latest product is the CD-SB10 to combine with the SC-C1, I went with that. Oh well, should all work the same.

IMO, it's just a cash grab for them to have two units "needed" to hookup Sirius. I would only want one unit for myself, but maybe thats just my thinking.

More variables/things to go wrong, more power/wiring which could lead to interference if any power/audio lines end up crossing...im just thinking out loud here..it should all work fine, but ya never know!
