ok i have a kenwood single din i am trying to install. i have an 08 g5 gt with the pioneer system. i have 2 green wires, 2 white wires, 2 grey wires, and 2 purple wires which are all speaker wires. on the metra harness i have a orange/red wire, orange wire, and a blue wire. those three i dont have hooked up to anything. i know the speaker wires are right because they are the same color on the deck harness. right now i have it coming on and lighting up and it takes cds in and out but the sound is not coming through the speakers. is one of the orange or the blue wire supposed to be wired somewhere because of the amp? i do have a p.cont one more wire and a brown(mute) wire left on the HU harness that isn't wired either but the guy before me didnt have the three i speak of on the deck harness wired up.

 

Orange is illumination and blue is usually for power ant. or amp turn on.it should be making noise if the speaker wires are correct.mess with the settings on the head unit some more.maybe its in there?

 

so maybe that blue i need to wire somewhere? so that the amp does turn on? i just checked the settings and it is all good. i dont hear any static from any of the speakers

 

you have factory pioneer?Im wondering if you do,and if your harness is pinned wrong maybe.Im not sure now.

ya i believe so, i mean everything matches correctly, there's no reason it shouldn't the only thing i can think of is that the blue wire needs to be connected to power the amp so it'll power the speakers.

 

solid blue is power antenna....blue/white is amp turn on.

 

its possible.you just need to find out what wire is for the amp turn on.you really wanna ask emporrer or how ever you spell it.He's a dam audio guru

 

blue/white it was. you have to hook up the blue/white to the blue on the metra harness for the pioneer system to power the amp which in turn powers the speakers.
