i need help asap

i have my avhp4000 dvd installed. going to the stock amp then speakers....
then i have my subs connected threw head unit via rca....
but everytime i put the volume past 11 on my deck it distorts like crazy my eq curve is good. anything i do it sounds like ****...im guessing stock amp is full of ****...i want to disable it compeletely for now and hook up my speakers to the HU directly...from what i remember in my previous car it powered some atermarket speakers well...the thing is right now inside speakers are stock...untill i get my infinity kappas and 4 chann amp....would removing amp and going straight to hu be good? has anyone done this? im sure i can go to like 30 with the volume and thats where i want my bass to be....11 for my bass is bs its practically off when all settings are on max i hate that ****....any help would be apreciated sorry for the novel

i personally think this amp was made to receive a low input signal from stock hu and with the output from the avhp4000 dvd its just to much for the amp to handle...

that is correct. the easiest fix would be to splice rcas into the harness speaker wire to give the stock amp low level. but it also takes a bit of nonsense

theres a write up stickiy i did on an amp bypass but remember the tweets are active so u would loose ur front tweeters minimum

i got the avh-4200dvd, with the pioneer system...and i can go up to 14-15 without distortion (but its so loud you gotta turn it down so your ears dont hurt lol) and for the bass, all i had to do was turn the gain up a bit on the amp, and it bumps just fine at those lvls

right thats the other option as well. turning down the eq across the board and keeping the sub at +6

thanx jj man so far i havnt done anything... always working man never get a chance to work on my baby....but ive resorted to listening to it at 11/12 witch is ridicoulosly loud, and the fact that im still using the stock amplifier amazes me cuz that things so small....i have to go buy my infiniti reference and 4 chan amp that should be enough for now....dont need a crazy loud system just clear where i want it to be...to be compeletely honest in my previous car i had some walmart sony xplod speakers and they sounded way better than the same system on my pioneers....its the amp...its sad LOLLL
