Okay, so I'm swapping head units with CaseySS87. He has the 09 SS/TC with a Pioneer system and sub woofer. I have the 2008 G5 with no sound options, just the basic 4 speakers. He has to re-wire his harness to work with my head unit. Will I have to do the same or because his harness is newer will it just work immediately?

The outputs from the headunit in the Pioneer system are line-level, not amplified. So you will need to install an amplifier in the system. The pin configuration in the wire harness, though, I believe is the same as far as the channels are concerned.
