Installed X930BT but screen won't dim

I recently installed my Pioneer X930BT Nav unit. Everything is great except the screen won't dim when it gets dark out. My brain is fried from messing with this all afternoon. Can anyone help me out? Is there a setting I don't know about or is there a wire that needs to be connected. Any help would be great. Thank you.

Andrew

Alright I did some more research. The orange-white wire on the head unit harness is the dimmer wire. What do I need to connect it to in the factory wiring harness to dim the display at night. Its ridiculously bright and distracting.

Not sure if it will work, but you can try wiring it to the rotary dimmer for the dash lights to the right of the steering column.

I think its talking about a wire that only gets power when the lights go on. I just need to figure out what wire they are in the fuse box.

i got the metra harness. there should be a wire in the hvac control harness that controls the lights on that. do you know what wire that is by chance? i don't want to run a wire over to the dimmer switch. and i do not have a volt meter.

I tapped into the illumination wire for the fog light switch, its 12 volts, and even if you dont have fog lights, you should still have the plug. just use a test light or something to figure out what wire is illumination. I think it was brown, but I forget.

Hey guys,
I recently installed a JVC head unit to fit my needs and found that the metra harness did not have an illumination lead on it.

I'd like to tap into the brown wire fog light lead you mention, but I have a base 2006 Pursuit sedan and don't have any fog lights- where would I find the plug?

Thanks in advance!
