Question Installers and Audio Guru's step in...

Hello, i have a few questions regarding an install i am going to be doing in a week or so...

I just purchased the AVIC D3X headunit and bluetooth package from crutchfield.com, should be arriving within the week.

I have a JL 12" sub and 600w amp from my last vehicle and am wanting to install this into my cobalt. I have a box that fits in the trunk so all of that will be wired up.

MY QUESTION:
Will my stock sub (pioneer) that came in the car still work when i wire up the new headunit? Does it automatically work when i plug the cobalt wire harness into the new head unit? So will i still be able to put separate power to my aftermarket sub and amp?

I want them both to work at the same time.

I will check this later tonight if you need any more info. Thanks!

I wouldn't want the stock sub playing at the same time as two aftermarket subs. I would disconnect it, so at the very least if you decide to trade or sell the vehicle you can hook it back up and have it working.

Different sounds
Different Freq.
The two subs won't mix well with each other
Ditch the stock one
You shouldn't even run two different brands of subs even if they are the same size.

correct. If it makes u feel better a guy in a camaro had a 2 12s sealed sub box with a sony on one side and a pet boys sub on the other BUT he wanted it louder so he cut a hole on the oposite side of the sony and put another one as well for a total of 3 12s.... we replaced it with one RE 12 and it was louder and cleaner
