Installing a new Head unit back plate

I am installing an new head unit a JVC KW-XR610. I can get the unit to fit but I have to smash the back wiring against the metal plate that held the stock radio. What did everyone do with that back plate? Did you cut/ drill a hole for the wires and connectors or did you just leave it? If you cut / drilled what did you use to do it?

its screwed in on both sides. after cutting the plastic out you can simply remove that bar.

I had this problem and they make a spacer plastic piece that I got with my dash kit.. My radio was hitting that plate and the spacer fixed that

right remove the bolts and cut out the plastic... most are fine with just that. otherwise the actual metal bar comes out too
