Hey guys... I just wanted to know if you guys had any tips or advice for me. I'm about to install the following into my Cobalt LS...

Replacing factory stereo with the mp3 version...

The JL Audio Cleansweep, which takes the factory stereo and equalizes the sound and gives line-out, etc.

Infinity BassLink II w/ Infinity BassLink 4sc upgrade. Its a 10" self powered sub with a 4 channel amp for speakers.

Infinity Kappa 62.7i 6-1/2" speakers for front doors and rear deck. The 4 channel amp and speakers both run 2 ohm, so that should work out just fine.

Anything I should be weary of?

 

What would be the best way to hook up the bass link to the cleansweep? Y adapters? Would that work well or screw things up?

And does anyone know if the stereo in our cobalts is 20Hz to 20kHz?

The only inputs the cleansweep has is for the speakers, no bass, so if I'm not sure how best to get a bass signal, cause don't we have seperate channels for bass because of the option to have the OEM Pioneer stereo?

Doesn't it cost like $600 and need Palm OS with bluetooth?

 

retail is 600 and you need some type of bluetooth... palm os, windows mobile 5.0 or a laptop (im using a laptop and a dongle)

 

Hmm, I'll have to look into it. Its probably too expensive.

Plus, I already have the Cleansweep.

oh ya and you will need to reprogram the mp3 HU for your car at a dealership because of theftloc

 

Oh really? Right now I have the original and I was going to put in the mp3 version.

It won't play at all until that is done, correct?

yup... i recently gave my stock mp3 unit to my gf with an ls

oh ya and you can keep your black face on the mp3 unit if you want it to match

 

That'd be cool, but I already bought all the matching face pieces...
