Installing Power locks ?
Installing Power locks ?
I was wondering if anybody has installed power locks before on a manual locking system. Im getting pretty tired of using a key to keep getting in my car, or reaching over the passenger side to keep unlocking the door...
Anybody done this before?
If so what product did you use?
thanks

Yea its pretty simple I use to do it for customers at a shop I worked for.
A kit off ebay will work just fine, takes a hour at most, thats with removing the panels and installing them back on, wiring etc.

I did on my 07 ls and it was easy and I got the kit off of ebay and it was really easy to wire up and install. just pop the doorpanels and kick panels off run the wiring and mount the actuators and i also installed power winds that was a little more difficult.
Nah I got a 2 door, but the kit would just include an extra 2 adapters thats all. Just weary about ordering off ebay...

Love the header it works great and looks good, didnt get it dyno'd, but you can feal a significant difference and the sounds is pretty good...minimum rasp.
I put in power locks in my LS this winter, I used the DEI (they make viper and like 6 other brand names) actuators, and it was eeeeeasy. Basic rundown is:
remove door panel
peel back plastic
screw actuator into doorframe
run wires, and ta-da.
You'll need to use a drill to get the connectors through the molex connecter that has all the wiring for speakers and stuff, but find two empty spots, drill through and then you can run the wires right through the holes. Makes this a little bit less haggard than improvising

ive got it done to mine, exept mine when u put it in park they dont unlock, and when u turn the car on and start driving they dont lock so i have to be in the car close the door and then turn the car on and they will lock so it was kinda easier just to have the manuel locks but it does help if ur a sedan

Sorry I lost track of this post! If you're still following, I've had them in since January. Every morning it worked 100% fine in the cold, and the actuator is really strong in its motion. A Nice refreshing click when it goes.
Yea still following. Yea im worried about the cold and stuff here in WI. freezing weather. But if they decide to not work, can u still get in manually with a key?
