The back speakers are actually in mono mode, for less distortion. it could be that the speakers disigned for this app. is diff. my advice is put the pioneers back in or change the head unit and run new wires.

mono mode? do you mean bridged? doubt they are bridged... nvm i can almost garantee they were not. think about it this way... you have a 6 chann amp. you have 5 speakers one being a dvc sub meaning 6 imputs. the sub and the 6X9s are both 2 ohm (not sure on the 6.5 but i bet they are) so it would be easy to run each speaker off each channel (each vc on the sub gets a channel) or try to bridge 4 channels but run the fronts off indivdual channels (mind you each channel in an amp doesnt have to be equal so if they were going to do somethign stupid like this they could build a 4 chan and save money, and time

to the best of my knowledge MONO mode doesn't mean bridged. Mono mode to me means that only one side of the sound spectrum is coming out of the speakers (i.e. all treble or all bass). if you look on your amp you should see a switch that says mono and stereo. Usually when it's in mono mode it mean that the signal going to the speakes is only bass. speakers should play anything that is sent to them from the amp or the head unit. so IMO mono mode would have nothing to do with this issue. it sounds like a loose voice coil wire or a blown speaker or a bad connection of some sort.

No. Mono means that both speakers are playing the same signal. When CDs are recorded there are different sounds that come out of each channel. Ever hear a song that had certain effects or instruments only come out of one side? That's "in stereo." When it's playing mono, the signal is merged and all speakers will play the same thing. You won't get the same effect.

oh my bad... anyways mono vs stereo has nothign to do with distortion... the only thing stereo could do thats bad over mono is cancelation but that would have no effect on the speakers preformance
