Keeping XM radio with new headunit?
Keeping XM radio with new headunit?
Looking to get a new headunit that is XM ready. Would just reconnecting the xm antenna that is on the car already make everything work? If not, what would I need to do?
You would need to get the XM module for that brand of headunit (it's an extra $150+ usually) Otherwise there is no XM tuner. Radios are "ready" if you need to sink more money into it, and will note if something is included in it.
Could be wrong though!

curious on this myself. i got the Pioneer AVH-P4200 and now have 2 XM antenna's on my car. I'd like to know where the box is on a 4 door before i start digging, but I might not have to. im wondering if i can use the factory xm antenna and just plug it in or adapt it to the new head unit. anyone?
