key fob help

I replaced stock batt with optima yellow since stock was completely dead, now key fob wont lock or unlock doors or anything with the key fob. It can't be the key fob battery cause the DIC tells you if that's low. Please help! Locking and unlocking the doors manually is a huge inconvenience!

check your fuse....also, search the forums. there's a major problem with the solder on cobalt remotes. one of the legs that holds the battery in place and provides power often comes loose because the solder joint is weak. pop open your key fob and check your board for broken legs near the battery. changing your battery shouldn't have affected the remotes at all because i've performed the same stock to yellow top procedure in the past and nothing affected the remotes.

Sometimes the FOB's become out of sync if the battery is dead for a while on the car or on the FOB. If it is just a sync issue, all you have to do is hold your lock and unlock buttons on the FOB at the same time while your near your car and after 20 seconds or so your locks on the car should cycle locked/unlocked. I have to do it all the time for people that only use one of their FOB's and leave the other in the closet or dresser and then try and use it.

I tried that out of curiosity it didn't work. I'll give it another try tho to humor my self. They say I could bring it to a locksmith if I don't wanna go to the dealer. So might give that a shot.
