Lighter plug always on power?

I have sirius radio powered by the lighter plug in the front of my car, how can I wire this plug to turn off when I turn the car off?

you can buy a product from a local hardware/auto parts store called "Add a plug". It will add a connection to your radio fuse. You cut the end off the lighter adaptor for your sirius and hook it into the add a fuse and run the wire behind your dash or out of sight. At that point it will power on when your radio powers on, and shut off when your radio shuts off. Pretty easy to do dependant on how badly you want to hide the wires.

Unplug it when you get out and just plug it back in when you start driving

hardwire it..cut the end of ur cigg plug. wire the black wire w/ white on it to the sunroof fuse...if u dont u can do the radio fuse...then ground it to the fuse box. there is a screw on the bottom of the fuse box that is ground...the fuse box is located by the passangers seat to the right of the shifter.

some of those sirius and XM radios that plug into a cig lighter only run off 6v, just giving a warning. Look at the plug and make sure it donent convert into 6v.

You can't run it to the radio fuse -- unless you want it to be hot all the time like it is now!! Use the sunroof or power window fuse.

they do have XM and sirius that run on 5v and 6v. It depends on what kind you buy I think the comander for Sirius runs off 6v. just makin sure cause you can blow out your whole unit.
