Loudest System
Actually, SPL woofers tend to have lower efficiency. SQ woofers are normally the ones with high efficiency. Also if your going ported I would recommend tunning for a hz that is lower then what appears in most music. Meaning something in the 20 to 25hz range for your port since 30 range is pretty common.
(2) Alpine 1242D 12'' Type R's taking 650Rms each. My system is tuned more for SQ than SPL, but it gets up there if its called for.

Also: 6.5'' Alpine Components in front w/ 6x9 3 way Alpines in rear taking 75 RMS ea
did anyone happen to see the blue balt at carlisle with this in his back seat. he was doing the DB comp and the windows looked like they were about to just pop right out. i dont think he is a member of the board...but it was seriously NUTS that the sub took up his entire back seat and trunk
is that the MTX jackhammer? i saw that on pimp my ride haha. it weighs like 250 lbs!

-EDIT- it weighs 369 lbs haha
here are the specs:
* 6,000 RMS, 12,000 peak music power
* 23" tall
* 369 lbs.
* 900 ounce strontium ferrite magnet with extended magnetic field gap technology
* Carbon fiber and glass fiber dust cap with aluminum honeycomb center
* Expanded polypropylene cone with mica filler for reduced mass and increased stiffness
* FEA designed progressive roll spider with 10 AWG integrated tinsel leads woven in to allow for 2.5” of linear cone movement one way
* Aluminum shorting ring
* 6.5” voice coil with 17 AWG high temperature aluminum wire in a flat wound, long-excursion design incorporating 2.5” of Xmax
* Aluminum heatsink to maintain the optimum voice-coil temperature
* Replaceable cone kits available to switch between SQL & SPL models without removing the JackHammer SuperWoofer from its enclosure
why would you want that thing? lol

My next setup is going to be Two Kicker 15L7's in a 7 cu ft box ported and tuned to 33hz.
Not sure about the amp yet, probably either an HK802SX, or an HK4000D.
News on my current system, just last week I installed Alpine Type-R 6.5" Components up front, they sound amazing.
Also, I got a radiator fan out of a Lincoln, wired it to a switch and relay, and put it in my trunk to cool my amps. Works pretty well.

oh ya hack trying to be the first balt with 2 15s on the site? lol jk but honestly at the rate im going you just might be.... but have you got your amps yet? i can probably get you the hk802 if you want. I have no idea on price but i can find out
Heres some pics of my concept drawings

The subs will be facing up, to maximize airspace. They will be flush with the opening of the trunk.

Here you can see the internal layout
ya that was with the MT... im sorta disappointed it was only a .2db gain but once i put some time into the build (more so money) i should see it rise slowly... remember i still want to put 2 15's, an alt, and at least 2 more batteries (i have all that but the batteries)
Gah, I wish i had money.
I want to run Four 15's so badddd

What's the specifics on your setup? I'll add you to my new leaderboard
