I got this from another member in a PM.

Ah its working I did get the right wire it just took awhile to sync up. It was the green/white wire going to the gauges... its pretty damn sweet the avic has a digital speedometer gauge that it displays on screen.

By gauges do you mean the climate control? Like the a/c and stuff? Because theres a green/white wire that goes to the old radio as well as one that does to the DIC buttons.

The wire that is the green and white wire that goes into the speedometer cluster is the right wire. Thats the one I used for my avic-d1 did you tell the sensor to reset and give it time to calibrate? Its not something instant at least it wasnt on my pioneer it took driving around for quite awhile then it finally callibrated and havent had a problem since.

Yah i have found my error, i never gave it enough time to calibrate, what threw m off was when i first connected it my car on the screen wouldnt stop moving and just drove off into the distance, while the reall car was in my garage :P also i have found several other wires that have VSS, B9 in the radio wires seems to have it as well, it the Low speed GMLan wire i believe and is green of sorts.

on the avic, you really dont have to hook up the wire... if you just reset the system itll figure it all out...

Ok well after talking to lots of people including My dealer and there machanics, i have found the actull VSS wire. I have tried all the wires behind the speedo and none are a true VSS wire, one gives a speed rating but its not accurtate. The only really VSS wire goesinto the ECU and its yellow at pin 18. Most GPS units work without it anyways so i havnt hooked mine up yet, hopefully oneday i will.
