Need help with Head unit

Hey guys, i got a new jvc kw r500 headunit for my 06 ss, (pioneer sound and no onstar).. i used the metra harness to wire into, all my speakers in the car are all working fine, but when i go to hook up my RCA's going to my amp into the back of the head unit i dont get any signal.. i played with the settings on the head unit, set it to subwoofer, turn it subwoofer on, turn the level up, and still nothing.. i even hooked the rca wire from my other car into my amp in the balt and i get sound so i know the amp and sub work. but when i hook it ino the jvc i get nothing... and get this, ive returned the headunit twice! first i bought a kw-xr610, no signal, took it back. exchanged for a kw-r500, no sound from sub, took it back. got another kw-r500 (the one i have now) and still nothing coming from either of the 2 Rca's out the back. WTF? Ive tried 2 different RCA cables too.. maybe im missing something? any help would be awesome!

Read your instructions. My 1st radio was a JVC and you had to turn the sub output on. Otherwise it would treat the rear speakers as subs.

where are you buying the units?? i had some trouble back in the late 90's with a jvc. turned out it was a refurbished radio!!! i would look for a sticker on it that says refurbished and get my money back and go to best buy or a quality car audio stor.

ok on the back of the radio theres 2 sets of rcas take it out of whichever ones u have it plugged into and try the second set. it it doesnt work go buy some rcas and without running them under the carpet plug them from radio to amp and see if it works. If that doesnt work then its radio settings

I tried that, tried different RCA cable, and tried the other set of RCA plugs.. no luck. Reset the radio multiple times. Messed with the settings. I just don't understand how I can be on the 3rd radio and still no sub banging. Like I said before I hook my RCA cable from my other car into the amp in the balt and it works fine..

OK sick. I tested my deck in my buddies car and the rcas work! So I ruled out the deck being defective. Now my mind is right fucked on what the problem could be. Could it be a wire or wires in my metra harness in the wrong spot? Maybe a speaker wire isn't wired on the harness right that's all I can think of??:s

New rca cables/remote wire. Also crank the gain down on the amp all the way and adjust as needed. Cranking it down will make the sensitivity higher.

ok so in ur buddies car on his system the rca outs work so its not an issue with the radio. when u put it back in your car do nothing as far as adjustments to make sure its not a setting issue. if it doesnt play still then get a mp3 player and with a rca to 3.5mm headphone jack plug it into the rcas at the radio end. there should be no sound. then try at the amp end if theres sound then its your RCAs if not then its amp subs sub wiring ect

OK I did try that. I know for a fact my sub and amp work. And I did try the RCA cable in my other car and it works too. I'm still thinking it could be something to do with the wiring at my harness.

why the wiring in the harness has nothing to do with the bass amp. if you did what i said and it didnt work then its something with the sub and amp. not saying they are broken but the issue wouldnt be at the deck end
