Lightbulb Need Help With Sub Enclosure

Okay, so I have been searching the internet to try and figure out how to get the most out of my system. I currently have 2 Kicker L5's 12" with a audiobahn amp. I have a box that me and a friend built and somehow crammed in the trunk. As it sits it is loud but I know it is capable of more. I am currently deployed but will be going back to the states in a few months. I have pretty much made up my mind to do away with the old box and to make the entire trunk or most of it into an enclosure. I have been trying to figure out if I should do this with a ported or sealed end state. If it is ported, which direction should the ports be facing to ensure the maximum loudness in the cab? Should I leave the subs facing the rear of the trunk or turn them to face the cab, (I don't see that helping me)? Any answers that you may have would be greatly appreciated! BTW i have a 06 cobalt ss/sc

sealed sounds better ported is louder and harder to build. for L5s they dont really sound good to begin with so ported is the only way to go IMO. also facing back is going to be the best option. It will be louder facing back unless you plan on completely sealing the cabin from the trunk as i did in my old car. also remember that the air needs to be able to get to the cabin. So if you are building it or having it built and its facing back, if you make the box to fill the entire trunk opening you are loosing sound
