circuit city charged 150$ to install an avic z2. which includes mounting gps antenna, and drilling through the firewall to hook it up to the car computer, Xm radio, installed and mounted mini microphone for voice command, and probly some other stuff. Aside from the radio aspect, like the subs and speakers.

i cant see anyone charging more then 75$ at the MOST to install a radio.

look man it all depends. if your getting the module harness then thats 120+ dash kit 20+ ant adapter +10 labor + 80

now that's all subject to location and prices can be diffrent. i can tell you how much i would charge for it at our shop but that's irrelivant, so i wouldnt straight out say ur getting ripped off because 250 is possible especially if you talking about sat radio and stuff. need to be more specific on what exactly ur getting

Yeah that gm-lan harness is 100+ bucks and the xm tuner is up there too... If these items are in the install price $250 is about right

it all depends.. if you are paying retail for the gmos lan 04, the antenna adapter, and the dash kit. i can see this costing 175ish retail in installation hardware alone. if they are only charging you 75 for the install i could see how they are rationalizing the $250.. if you have all the install hardware you are getting ripped. head units are easy to install... ask them their hourly rate and how many hours they expect to take.. i could install a hu in 30 minutes if i had all the right tools in front of me.. i suspect most people would charge an hours worth of labor.. at the most two hours but they better be soldering connections if they charge two hours.

i doubt they would charge 2 hours for HU alone. but i wont touch sat radio for less then 80. ripping up an entire car to get that antenna ran is a bitch.

pulling panels carpet drilling the firewall is all cake after a while. running that stupid ass antenna sucks no matter where it ends up

remember most of us are adding retail on parts and high on install and =250. no one has included the xm tuner and that whole install. tuner itself is normally what 80 bucks? and like i said the install isn't the funnest thing in the world. do full retail and labor for module harness xm tuner ect is well over 250. Now im sure the op isnt getting the full run up but i can only add up what i see

all I have is what came with my box , I have the sony wire harness....... will that work? I already have XM on the stock HU , so will I still need to get an XM module and antenna? that doesnt make sense why would I need ANOTHER XM antenna? I have the one the car came with....

bumpity

You can hook in thru your factory xm antenna, but you will need to get a sony xm tuner.
