Ok so here's the deal. I am ordering my new subs tomorrow and at first i was sold on getting P3s but now i see the new type R's and they look real nice... what do you guys think.. im kinda leaning towards alpine now.

 

I heard the alpine's the other day in best buy, idk what amp it had on it, but it was insane.

 

How much do you want to spend?


There are much much better subs out there for the same price that bestbuy sells them for.

My friend had 3 12 inch alpine type R's with a 1600 watt amp and it was crazy loud and sounded great.

 

i can get the 2 Rs for 250 and P3s for 235 so price is close and thats what im want to spend so idk

 

If you had unlimited money I would say get JL Audio W7's...

 

uhh i ya w7's are far from the best speaker out there.... dont get me started

 

Well i ordered the new type Rs so we'll see how they are they look extremely promising. And if i had unlimited money id be getting some T2's

fine take 2 w7s any size and ill go head to head with you on both SPL and sq. my subs not only sound better then w7s but get louder too. and re audio is lets face it a bullshit company. if you want a good sub from jl then get a w6. the w7 is a pos

ive had nothing but great things from my w7's and my w6's hell i loved my w3 as well. all quality subs in my opinion.

although the w7 was too loud

 

If I were to get subs all over again, I would choose 1 18" solo x or an orion, or the best re audio sub 15". I figure more room and just have a custom box flush with the trunk instead of a gay box with 2 subs.

 

i still don't understand why everyone ***** bricks about those...granted i don't have the most glorious setup but you would NEVER catch me dropping anything close to retail price on those...

 

its because they say JL audio on them and have been around a while.

I personally think they sound like ****. almost like someone is farting to the music

 

agree'd....i mean, im just not one to sacrifice a DECENT amount of SQ for SPL, and even IF i wanted ridic SPL i'd rather have some Fi's, DD's, or an MTX 9500
