No sound....
I read the FAQ and I still can't get my sound to come on.
I took my car to a shop, they told me that they could get it to work, less the onstar... just as I expected. I get a call a few hours later saying that I NEED the 150+ dollar harness and it's not possible to get the car to work without it.
Pioneer Avic Z1
06 Cobalt SS with the pioneer and onstar...
Everything powers up. I have the blue remotes that are in each harness and a third blue wire coming from somewhere else? They're all wired together. I can't figure out for the life of me why it's not turning on sound. I turned the setting to turn the antenna on to "POWER"...
Welp... I'm impatient.

sounds pretty ghetto. Pull off the fuse box on the pass side in the car and see if your mysterious blue wire is coming from there. If so it needs to be hooked up for the red ACC from the aftermarket stereo.
The Blue remote from your aftermarket deck needs to be hooked up with the blue wire fom the cobalt harness and possibly the remote for an aftermarket amp if you have one (if the mysterious blue wire isnt at the fuse box it probably would be the remote for an aftermarket deck)

There was a red(power) wire ran to the fuse box hooked to a 10 amp fuse. The blue wire goes somewhere in the back, but not my aftermarket amp. I have a seperate (FOURTH) remote wire for it.
I hooked everything up, remotes to remotes and turned it on to see if I could even get my aftermarket amp to turn on to power my aftermarket sub, and it wouldn't.
If no one gives me cash for it tonight, I'm taking it back tomorrow and they're fixing it at their cost.

If anyone in cleveland reads this, I will give you fifty bucks to fix this. PM me.
B's in Sheffield.
I'm hesitant to because they don't know what they're doing... I have a buddy that's good with this **** and some people on the boards are helping me via PM.
I really want to keep this unit as it's the one I want...
As stated above.. I can't even get my aftermarket amp to turn on. Is there something wrong with the remotes? There the blue wire in the factory harness. It is cut in half and wired back together to expose the wire. There is a mysterious one that is going past the fuse box and down towards the back of my car and there is the remote that I have hooked up to my amp. Neither amp are turning on, even with the pink wire spliced in.
I got it fixed today with the thanks of YellowSS06. I guess the remote coming from the car was messing up everything. I wired it correctly and it all works fine. Adjusting the EQ is as fun as ever in Alpine units....
Taking it back to the shop to have them fix the rest.

Got it back from the shop, everything works great but I'm not moving on my nav map. It says I'm at home, I set a point to go to and begin driving. It showed me turning but not actually moving.
I went into the hardware menu and reset the 3d calibration. It will take a few miles to adjust itself and then work, right?
