not for a cobalt but speaker trouble

i installed all new speakers on my girlfriends moms explorer and the passenger side speaker runs but it doesn't sound like the others its like all treble and the bass sounds bad on it do you know what it could be there is an aftermarket headunit and i dont think it has a stock amp

x2 double check polarity, make sure the speaker is sealed off in the door panel and check to see if the woofer is blown

how do i check the polarity lol im a noob i dont think its blown because we had a problem with the last speaker so i think its the wiring

pull out the HU and with a 9v battery and some speaker wires touch the negative to the negative black line and the pos to the pos and see if the speaker moves in or out. in this configuration it should move out.
There are also a few programs that you can buy a cd and a handheld unit or something to test polarity (supposedly also an iphone app too)

go buy a tone generator, ive seen people blow airbags with a 9v, but x2 on what it should do!

ive only seen someone blow an airbag with a 12v drill battery. and his head an inch away from the speaker (bought 4" from the bag)

if ur popping it at the harness and only the wires connected as speaker wires you will be fine

true, but you know how some people are, and todays radios with DATA wires back there who knows what could go wrong. I love my tone generator.

mcm electronics has one for like 25 bucks , its in home audio use called the FOX 2
