OEM CD player skips

I just picked up an 06 SS/SC last week off lease and Im having problems with the OEM cd player skipping. I mostly listen to full live DJ sets which usually have a length of 1-2 hours and Im wondering if this has something to do with it, as I've never had a problem when listening to a regular cd. Anyone have any similar issues? Could this be something covered under warranty? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

ya probably not. its a loose loose situation because the dealer isnt going to want to cover it period.

i would try another software to burn the cds or you may need to buy a new cd player but i wouldnt be quick to do so

Are you doing these as MP3 discs?

Try slowing your burn speed down.
If your using Nero bring it all the way down to the min speed it will allow.

If it ends up being the Player, I have one from a 06 SS/SC for sale. $50 bucks plus shipping. (onstar and XM plus MP3 capable, includes external stock amp) We never had issues with it. (but didn't have a lot of Burned 1-2 hours long songs either). I would adjust the Burning of the CD's first though.
Good luck.

Cool, thanks for the replies folks. I have been using MP3 CDs but I'll try using a different burning software before pulling the deck out (which I plan on doing in due time anyway).

Thanks again.

Mine did it all the time right from the start regardless of a new or burned CD. Stock radios suck IMO, at least the CD player.

I don't think I've even used my cd player with the USB plug that I have!

I wish they had affordable aftermarket decks that had them. I've never seen one but I'm sure they exist. I never even use cds with my iphone input on my Pioneer Nav unit. Much better than the stock 6 disc changer unit. The changer is the only thing I miss. OP if you get a new HU some day, get one off ebay. I bought mine for $600 with full nav and dvd capabilities. Was brand new from the factory. Seller had 100% positive feedback with thousands of reviews.

05/06 doesn't have aux (Unless you hack the XM wires), or USB.

well id like one seperate not an all in one style changer. any changer tends to have issues over time but on the radio itself its more jam packed and tend to fail quicker. seperate units are normally bigger and bulkier but they break less often and if they break u still have the one up front to play a cd and can replace the broken seperate unit easier

Ive never had a problem with mine skipping. I listen to full DJ sets as well with no problems. I have 07 SS/SC though. Just curious what type of electronic music are you into. I may have some sets that you may want.

ya you just have to remember how picky i am on features. 5.1, dvd audio and 5v preouts are a must (that eliminates 95% of all radios right there)

mine did that when it was sitting in the shop getting dust all over it for 3 weeks. I just stuck a blow nozzle in the slot and blew it out and it never skipped since
