I searched their website (optima) and they show nothing for a cobalt or g5.

Do they list any dimensions? I would measure your OE battery and see if you can find dimensions for the red top.

the 34/78 is the one most people use. it doesnt "fit" because its taller then stock by quite a bit it pushes up the carpet but otherwise fits

Group 34 optima is the about the same size as the stock battery (Mabie a little tiny bit taller) but has the terminals stick up out of the top of battery instead of the stock battery which has them made lower so they are even with the top of battery. So they are the terminal length taller and make the carpet stick up that much.

It's not a little, I had a yellow and red top in the same 34/78 size. It kicks the carpet/board up about 1", you cannot put anything in the trunk without risking breaking that board. Just stick with a standard battery.

Code:
Battery	RedTop 34/78	RedTop 75/25	OEM 90
Length 10.018” 9.340” 9.562"
Width	6.886” 6.772” 6.875"
Height	7.841” 7.697” 6.875"

Ya my post is a little confusing after re-reading it. I'm saying the optima not counting the terminals on top is about the same size. So the optima is about the terminal size(About 1"-1.25") Taller. Sorry about the confusion.

If Cherry_GT has experience with both and says 25/75 fits better then I'd go with that.

Just went with the duralast gold, it fits perfect. It has the flush terminals just like the ac delco and it's more powerful.

While it is the shortest battery they make that has our terminals, it's still almost an inch taller. I'd look at another manufacturer or go with a normal lead/acid battery.
