Pioneer AVIC 700BT Issue
Hey Guys,
I have had my Pioneer in-dash unit for a few years now and it has work great! Last month however I ran into a bit of an issue. The splash screen appears for a few moments then goes blank (it is still backlit however, it is a lit black..not "off" black as if it was turned off). I have my ipod hooked up so I can still listen to music but I have no control over nav, music (radio, cd, switching between), or any other functions since I cannot control the screen.
Has anyone had this issue with a pioneer and if so, how did you fix it?
Thanks!

it sounds to me like the back light is going out or out all together . i would check the ribbon cable that goes to the face or to the main bored . and make sure it not pulled out or at a angle that will cause the screen to go dark

either backlight or setting issue. if i remember correctly there was something stupid u could enable that would cause that. id call pioneer first see what a tech says just in case otherwise yank the power on it and let it sit for 5-10 mins restart and see its either going to fix the problem or the reset will prevent it from going to ipod automatically

I had a similar issue, and found that the rear view camera was set to on and I do not have the camer installed, some how it got turned on, once I turned it off the unit worked ok.

^ ok so get this. I when the screen has gone blank, pressing any menu or map button has never worked. This morning I got up for work and turned on my car, screen went blank per usual, I hit map about 10 seconds after, and the screen turned on! I went directly to the rear view camera setting and it was on so I turned it off and EVERYTHING WORKS I shut my car off and turned it back on just to make sure and it looks like I am golden! thank you guys for the tip!
