So has anyone installed Infinity Kappa or component speakers in their doors and rear deck? I'm wondering if there're any problems with the stock Pioneer amplifier. I'm assuming the stock speakers are rated at 4 ohms. The Infinitys in question are rated at 2 ohms.

I'm assuming there wouldn't be, like the amp wouldn't go into protection mode, I just want to make sure before dropping $400 on speakers.

If I don't get an answer here, I'll probably end up calling Technical Assistance and see what they say.

 

stock speakers are 2 ohm actually, and the tweet is 2 ohm as well i believe (front tweet and mid are on separate channels)

 

I had the 2 ohm Infinity's running off the stock amp for a while.
The sounded OK.
The were way better than the stock speakers thats for sure.

They make tose speakers at 2ohms because alot of car companies are doing the same thing as they did in the Cobalt. Thats what the write up on the back of the box said anyway.
I didn't have any issues so I'm guessing you won't

 

yeah I put infinity reference and kappas in my 09,6.5 in front doors,6x9 in rear deck which was a pain but sounds much much better than stock.
