Port Noise

So i just rebuilt my sub box and tunned it to 33 hrz. Well i played a 33 hrz tone. And i am getting loud whistling out of my port. It is a 3" port and i can not go any bigger. How can i get rid of the whistling?

Put a little bit of insulation in the box. That may help it a bit.
