problems with amp help
ok here's my problem i put in a aftermarket cd and amp into my 2007 cobalt ss/sc. the cd works great and the factory sub and amp still play but my aftermarket amp and subs won't. there is 11.5volts on the power side. the amp is a digital kicker amp and when i run a test the speakers play bass but not from the song. could it be my rca cable?

Could you elaborate a bit more on that? If you are getting bass but no mid & high my first guess would be you plugged that amp into the sub port/jack on the new deck (i'm assuming by cd player you are referring to a new head unit), my 2nd guess would be some funky setting in the equalizer on the deck (ie, only sending bass on that output)

ok when we play a song the music play though all the speakers expect the aftermarket subs. the amp is a kicker 650x1 and it digital and has a test section on it and when i hit that it play a test bass. so that is my question why would the test work fine be the song that i am play will not play though the subs. what i mean by the car was off is we just had the switch on and the car wasnt running.
ya turn the car on...
like i said amp could be broken rcas could be broken or bad ground... If the amp is busted and its producing dc signal it will destroy you sub and quick. test it out unplug the rcas see what happens. wiggle the ground see what happens. ect i can probably get the amp fixed for u if thats the case too

first off its a pioneer deck there is a setting to turn the sub rca output on and off make sure that is on. second if that is on the other test would b go buy an aux to rca wire and plug it into an ipod and the input on the amp and turn the car on if it plays the sub off the ipod then your rca is bad
