turn them around, face the rear seat with them, it will really help, but with them i bet you'll still get a rattle

don't face them in, it will sound a lot better the way you have it now....use MINIMAL expanding foam in the crevices of the trunk lid (nothing else or your trunk lid could buckle), dynomat entire rear deck and trunk lid, put down rear seat a little to reduce pressure (or cut vents through the rear seats or in the rear deck for more air flow).....the possibilites are endless, it's just a question of how far you wanna go with it

i found that the biggest and most obnoxious rattle is the trunk lid, do to the fact that the lid doesnt shut that tight. i just put little pieces of weather stripping on those two little black stoppers that are mounted to the bottom of the trunk. it is still sealed fine and doesnt rattle near as much. you will see what i mean if you turn on your bass loud, go to the trunk, and push some of your weight downwards on the lid, not the spoiler. the rattle will almost completely stop! just play arround with it unill you get some excess pressure on it.

Also, im noticing with my stock system (saving up my paychecks for my aftermarketsystem(of course)), that the rear deck will rattle do to those 3 clips. It's very annoying lol

Personally I like down firing boxes. You can use a smaller box and still get the same performance from a down firing box. I had one in my truck before the Cobalt. It had very little rattle and sounded great. If you think about it, your car is designed for vertical vibrations, i.e. rough roads, not horizontal vibrations.

If you want the most bass with as little rattle as possible, build a box where the port fires through the rear deck of the car. This is becoming quite popular for CarToys installs. Basically when doing this, all of the bass is transfered through the port directly into the car making the trunk have 0 rattle.
