question about stock system
i looked today and didnt find an amp for the sub, so i am assuming its just powered by the HU. If anyone knew how much power the stock sub could handle, that would probably answer the question. just hook one up, then you will know when it blows lol. I would look for a replacement sub thats about the same size as our stock one just to replace it.
theres an amp for the system in he vehicle. its behind the starage compartment where the trunk release button it. it puts out about 228 whats i think it was. it also powers all the speakers in the pioneer 7 speaker system. theres a big thread on it somewhere
The factory amp is designed specifically for the Pioneer system. There are no line outs. You would have to knock the amplified signal back down to line level and then re-amplify it. There would be no point.
Sure there would. MORE POWER!!!
Here's a link to how I did mine. I added an old RF Punch 100 DSM and it made a HUGE difference. It was way more than the factory sub can handle though. But the SQ of the bass increased 10 fold.

One more note;
The factory sub is a Dual Voice Coil sub, each coil has an impedence of 2 ohms. Make sure the amp you use is 2 ohm compatible for each channel (or combined channels).
DO NOT run the wires in parallel to the sub with your amp bridged unless it's stable down to 1 ohm. Usually, only Class D amps are capable of that.
