alright i wanna have my ipod hardwired to my radio. i was about to buy a $80 transmitter but thats when a co-worker of mine at ccity(who works in car audio) said i could have my ipod hardwired to my radio. since i work there i can get for $70 installed. he says that it will sound like CD quality which is ten times better than a transmitter for less. but i dont think that our stock deck is ipod compatible. i dont no for sure. but can someone let me know. i have a 06 Cobalt SS 2.4. help would be appreciated.

 

The best you can do is a hard wired FM modulator that plugs into the antenna jack of your factory radio. Then you just tune the radio to that frequency when you want to listen to the ipod.

 

i think im getting a new headunit. whether im gonna drop the money on a DVD in dash or just swap out the headunit for one thats compatible. Im 17 so i plan on having my car for a while. so might as well drop the money on a in dash dvd. if i did get a headunit i wouldnt get anything special. just somethin that would be ipod compatible that i can use this adapter with. but the problem with new headunit is that i have a open space underneath the player.

 

if u plan on gettin that...get a aftermarket alarm on that first..so no1 steals it.

 

hey im doing the same thing, but I just bought the jensen touch screen one from ebay paid $300 on it now im waiting for the harness to arrive, CCity are so freakin expensive, the harness is $150 and plus i need the Ipod cable. I don't know alot about sound system but its expensive.

 

the 150dollar harness/dash kit keeps your factory onstar..it has another DIC built into the dash kit. if u dont have onstar u could go to best buy or whever and buy the 20 dollar dash kit and the harness for 20 bucks.

 

i woek at ccity and i pay cost. i can get the harness for $50
