Quick question about prices

I bought an in-dash flip screen dvd player for my 06 ss/sc.

Anyways. It was on sell and cheap. But Best Buy (where I bought it from) says that I need a 200 dollar piece to replace my stock radio because all of my guages are somehow wired in wierd. They tell me that if I don't buy the piece, then all of my guages (speedometer, tachometer, etc) will go bad. The piece that they say I need has like a screen where it shows your mpg, average speed, all of that there instead of under the speedometer.

Basically I just want to know input on how many people have flip screens in their cars, and if they didn't buy the piece, are they alright?

What is another place that installs things well? Best Buy has never tried to rip me off before, and all the guys there are pretty cool. If it's a lie, where else installs things... Not many other custom shops around here in TN.

You dont need it. The $20 harness works just fine, however you do need to get other harness if you want to keep ur steering wheel control's

Dude, you're just south or Nashville, I'm in Hendersonville. Give me a PM and I could probably show you a place that does this type of work in Hendersonville. Never went inside there but maybe we can check it out. I've heard atleast 1 good thing about them from a local friend.

You don't need the expensive harness to keep the steering wheel controls, just a seperate interface box that runs like $40 (made by PAC - www.pac-audio.com).
