well my only problem with that is i still want it to detect when it's going off because the majority of the time it's going off because i'm in the pedal.

I highly doubt it's that, because mine doesn't do it in my SS/TC. I've got the same radar detector. It's gotta be the drive by wire system or it's a voltage spike through the cigarette lighter.

lol like I said, I was only guessing, I don't know why it does it. It could be a voltage spike as well. But at least other people have had the same problems and I'm not the only one.

I know this is bumping an old thread but my radar did this also, and some of you may still be dealing with this.

SOLUTION: Hard-wire it.

Problem solved. 110% guaranteed. I have no clue why this worked, but it did. I was told this by a friend who works at an audio shop.

Fuse tap into the wiper fuse. Behind the passenger kick-panel, for power.

For ground, there is a bolt right below the box of fuses, connected to the frame. You can't miss it.

Let me know how it goes! You'll have to cut the cigarette part off of the wiring and split the positive and negative away from each-other and wire strip them about 4".

No, you will need to cut that part off.

Not exactly. It is (to the best of my knowledge) a problem with voltage dropping when there is a fuse in-line with the circuit. The cigarette part does have a mini tube-fuse in it. But, as soon as you remove that part, no voltage drop. Not sure why, but it is what it is.
