Escort 9500ix is great cause it's got gps so u can cancel out false alarms and it marks them. Valentine 1 is awesome too cause the range is redick and the arrows are the shiz. Pretty much what he said get the most expensive u can afford. Maybe passport 8500x50 they r cheap on eBay. V1>all!!!

Rocky mountain is good from what I hear. I have owned passport x50, 9500ix, cobras, bel, and valentine one. The valentine one is the best in my opinion. Bel and escort are the same company just diff cases. I would get the valentine or if 400 is to much go with the passport x50

I have the new 9500 ix in my new Camaro...I have a special made visor bracket that makes it very stealthy, it rocks ! I also have an x-50 blue face and the battery S-2....they are all good.
The only bad thing is its hard to defend against Laser...

i just got my 9500ix to replace my cobra and i am speechless! it is just light years ahead of the cobra! the passport is so much more sensitive and yet so much quieter (almost no false alarms)

I highly recommend 9500ix to everyone

here ya go!
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/lounge-42/good-radar-detector-207815/

cheap = escort 8500

Top 3
escort 9500i or xi
V1
Bell STi

do your own research to see each ones pro's and cons and decide.

I personally have the 9500i and LOVE it. It is the #1 for least false alarms and having the ability to block out false ones with the gps or add gps locations for camera's or speed traps is hella handy.

dont get cought. radar detecters are illegal in NB man. as soon as you enter NB from the maine border theres a big sign saying you must remove them in all of NB or face fines trust me i want one too but cant justify getting pulled over because of one

New Brunswick
Radar Detectors in New Brunswick: Radar detectors are illegal to use in New Brunswick.
Laser Jammers in New Brunswick: Laser jammers are illegal to use in New Brunswick.

Ugh.... NO RMR... They're the only detector worse than a Cobra.

I always suggest that if you want to run a Radar Detector in ban areas, that you always run a Beltronic STi Driver or the STi-R version if you want a remote mount. These are the only ones to be known to elude detection by the Spectre series of Radar Detector Detectors that the police in ban areas use.

Personally the detector I reccommend most if the ban area is not an issue is the Valentine1. It is one of the most sensitive units on the market, and the dual radar horns helps for rear origin radar shots. In additon, the dual radar horns allows it to locate the radar sources. The V1 triangulates the signal between the two horns and tells you the number of radar sources (Good for when a cop tries to hide behind a normal false alert area) and the direction they're coming from.

eBay is considered a grey market. If Escort has an ebay store linked from its official site, then that is legit, but from other sellers it is not. The main reason is that eBay tends to be where stolen detectors end up. If you try to buy a V1 from eBay, it is essential to run the Serial # with Valentine Research before buying to ensure that it was not reported as stolen.
