Really? speaker question

so i was at best buy and they said tht all four of the speakers in our car (LS atleast) are 6 1/2 speakers...
i thought tht the back ones were 6x9's?

is it true that they;re all 6 1/2's??

Get out the sawzall and hammer!

I guess 6.5's would fit....

Yeah, it's always better to go into any Best Buy location
AFTER you've already done all your research.

If you get the wrong information that they normally give first,
then at the best you lose alot of time, at worst you lose money.

I know this thread is a few months old, but I was looking at Crutchfield just now and they also say 6.5" in the rear. All over this forum I'm seeing guys installing 6x9s in the rear, yet so many places say they won't fit. Obviously all those places are wrong 'cause I'm looking at pictures that prove otherwise - just seems sort of weird.

I haven't really looked in the trunk of our '08 Coupe LT, and that's obviously the smart thing to do, it just seems odd to me that so many sources have the same consistantly wrong info. Makes me wonder if Chevy goofed somewhere on some release notes or something.

Edit to add: I just checked for model years other than our 2008 (well, I checked 2005 MY anyway) and Crutchfield shows rears for that year as 6x9. Can anyone confirm that that there was a change later on? Yeah, yeah, I'll go check out the actual units in our car tomorrow just to be sure...... just wondering.
