Rear deck speaker issues

Whats up I'm new to the site.
I hate to introduce my self asking for help and what not but I guess i kind of have to.
I recently bought my 06 cobalt & i love it. But the sound system it came with was complete crap. So I decided to replace it asap, I just ordered a new pair of speakers for the rear deck.
Apparently from what A friend of mine and crutchfield are saying that they wont fit.
The speakers are the "Kicker KS690" The exact measurements on them are like "152mm X 229mm". SO the real question is does anyone know if these speakers will fit without modding the deck?

This sint spam by the way, I actually like this forum form what i can see so far.

Anyways thanks in advanced to anyone that helps.

The rear deck lid speakers are 6" by 9" speakers.

152mm is 5.98 inches
229mm is 9.01 inches

They should fit. Unless kicker did some wide basket designs...

define not fitting... after spending the time taking it all apart I've never sent someone away saying the speaker didn't "fit"

but yes there is a chance the hole isn't big enough but sometimes you have to outsmart the speaker
