Rediculous

Wow, i think chevrolet is totally against people putting in aftermarket systems. it took me about an hour and a half just to get the headunit in. wouldn't have been so bad if i wasn't running 3 sets of RCA cables to it, the is like zero room. but i finally got it all to go in(after a drimmel and cutting some plastic) but the bad thing is, i have to take it out to get the anttenna adapter put in. oh well. good luck guys with your installs and ill get some pics when its all done

Just wait till you replace the components and try running a after market amp on all the speakers. Then it gets interesting.

yeah thats what im talking about the RCA cables make it hard to install, i got the drimmel out and cut the plastic so they would fit. i now have to take out the rear deck so i can replace those speakers.

It can be challenging compared to some cars.

Head units was easy for me as well, i have taken it out and put it back in numerous time without problems, it was wireing new components in the factory positions that caused alot of problems.

true the only thing that was hard was the stupid RCAs would not fit. so i had to trim the plastic in the back. also, did anyone have trouble getting the trim peices off, those were some troublesome clips. some of them actually stayed in the holes. but i can get around that, just want to know if anyone else is having this problem.

Are you guys experiencing any computer related things not working after your aftermarket radio install? Supposedly, air bags won't work, body control module won't work etc.
I want to put a new unit in and one very reputable installer wont even touch it due to the items that wont work due to the switch.

yup they say the same thing about 2000 and up cavaliers/sunfires. the only thing that happens is you lose your door chime with replacing the stock head unit.

And that's more of a gain than a loss IMO.
