Replacing Factory Speakers: Base Stereo

OK, I ve just installed my Sony H/U and now I m looking into replacing my factory speakers hopefully within the next month. I ve got the basic 4 speaker system. From what I m seeing it looks like I can put 6X9s in the rear and 6 1/2s in the front? So what would be my best bang for the buck for now until I can afford to put a 10 in the trunk? I m not necessarely looking for the most bass , jsut a good sounding all around system that will sound good with anything on. Also, is it possible to install tweeters on the A-pillars to enhance the sound imageing? I would describe myself as a newbie- audiophile, and I want all of the high quality files from my ipod to sound the best. So, what are my best options without a sub and amp, without going crazy price wise? Thanks in advance for any input.

Also: My h/u specs are: max power output: 52wX4
23.2 watts per channel minimum continuous avg. power into 4 ohms.

I know its not the greatest, but itw what I could afford when I bought it, it will have to do for now.

Kenwood, Power Bass, Infinity all sound good off of head unit's power for cheap price. (atleast to my ears)

You really just have to go and start to listen to stuff. Every one has different opinions on what sounds good and what doesn't. If you find something that wants an RMS of 25-50 W your unit will still make them sound pretty good aslong as you adjust the EQ's to your liking.

If you are getting compenent fronts speakers try to place a tweeter close to the bass speaker as possible, that will make for the best sound quality.
