replacing stock amp, wiring in new system

okay, so i recently bought a system off of a friend of mine...... long story short, I want to maintain my stock H/U and as much stock-nees to the wiring, etc. as I possibly can (not very good when it comes to car audio)......... I am looking for an easy way to wire in the new system, so, my question to all of you is.......

can I replace my stock amp with an aftermarket/higher wattage amplifier, remove my stock sub-woofer and use the factory wiring to wire the enw system in? or depending on the amperage of our stock amp, could I merely remove the stock sub and use the factory wiring to wire in the new system.......... I'm trying to figure out the easiest way for me not to **** this up and I dont like having a very expensive paperweight sitting in my trunk

read the amp bypass i wrote up top. thats really only necessary if you doing an aftermarket amp for mids and highs. doing a sub amp is much easier

doing a sub amp is easy. all you need is the regular amp install stuff and a LOC. run the remote wire to the fuse box via fuse tap (wiper or sunroof fuse) and tap the signal with the LOC from the stock sub wires (unplug the connector as well)
