Replacing Stock Sub

Hello all
I've been searching ways to do this all over and seems that using a line converter in conjunction with the rear speakers is the best way. I have an 06 LT 2.2 with the pioneer system. a few questions i have still though hat i cant find answers to:

Can i attach the line converter to the two wires in back of where the stock enclosure is?
Will that create any Problems? And how?
The stock amp is located in the dash somewhere? Where exactly?

Any light shed on this would be greatly appreciated, if it's already posted just send me where i need to look. Thanks!!

That shouldn't effect anything right, like too much power into the converter?

no the converter is made for a left and right signal anyway. the only thing u want to make sure is polarity and which wires are the left channel and which are right. but with the red/black color coding after the plug to the stock box that makes polarity easy

ok heres what i wound up doing. i went to walmart and got a line output converter for like 20 bucks. all i had to do was wire the 4 stock sub wires into it, ground the little unit, and then ran aux cables to the new amp.

then, business as usual, ground/power/acc the amp (the acc connection i used was the windshield wiper fuse, just ran the acc wire to the right side of the fuse which is located on the passenger side panel under le radio)

everything works good. also no you don't have to worry about overpowering it if ur using an amplified signal, as thats what the line output converter is for.
