Arrow reverse lights as brake lights

I know people have made there reverse lights into brake lights by adding LED strips. Is it possible to make them be running lights, brake lights and turn signals all on one set of lights. I have thought about it and the only way I can see is to use two sets of lights and wire one up as the running lights and the other as the brake/turn lights. Thanks for the help

you dont have to use two sets. you just need adjustable resistors and some diodes to use a single strip of leds for all of it. look at the how-to's. there is a guy that explains how to do it around post 60 i think in one of the how-to's. i've explained it to someone before and they did it as well

Do what I did.

Only difference is mine won't act as turn signals. I didn't want them to. Less wire to run up the trunk lid too. But to do it, you just have to run a wire from the brake lights on both sides up to the trunk lid, where as I only tapped into the third brake light.

Another option

Running back up lights red outside ring of leds as running lights with another set of amber leds in the middle for turn signals Put my back up lights as led strips (10mm white 6 in. both sides) behind the grids by exhaust. Also added Red strips same location as red brake lights behind grids.
Hooking up led-spider.com sequencer for sequencial lighting (old thunderbird style and new mustang style) Using led-spider requires no diodes resistors all done on the board with internal clock for blinking speed. Also will control incandescent lighting.
Pictures to be available in about a week or so. Hooking up the front and back at this time.
Will have sequencing leds inside the rearview mirrors as well as the white leds in my halos will sequence.
Putting superbright yellow leds in my halos instead of white also.

convert backup lights to running lights.

Easy go buy 3 in led lights Trucklite, maxximum, and others and put behind the backup light lens and attach the wires from the other brake lights and you are done. Way less than 50.00
I have switched my regular lights to led with 30leds for under 50.00 for the pair. Took me 3hrs to modify and install.

Ok here you go. How to have all features on the cheap

You can do your self easy.
First take out the brake lights You will notice on the back a ridge on the back side that just happens to be 4in round and is parrallel to the back of the car so no tweeking angle
JUST CUT ALONG THAT RIDGE AND ATTACH 4IN ROUND STOP TURN LED LIGHT TO THE BACK AND HOOK UP TO CAR WIRING AND YOU ARE DONE. SAME WITH BACK UP LIGHT.
Need more info and pictures of how I did this 503 806 7117
No custom wiring no nothing but 3 blue butt spices.
I could do just like mine for 25.00 plus parts. insurancesigns@yahoo.com

All using regular bulbs although I didnt have reverse lights at all.basically I put red bulbs in the reverse lights andwired the pigtails into the brake light circuit, then added a red 194 socket in each reverse light and wired them to the running light circuit

Pull the tail lights out so you know

What is up. Take 2 wing nuts off pull the tail light out and call me. I will tell you how to do.
You will need a saw of some kind band saw prefered but hack saw will work because you need to cut through the plastic. A dremmel tool to grind down the rest since you can't cut all the way through because some is below the lip of the light. This will become obvious when you take it out.
I can send you a picture of mine. I just used gorilla tape to hold the replacement lights in place.
Walla. Go to trucklite.com look and any 4in round stop turn led light. The more LED's the more money.
I went to 26 to 30 LEDs but you can go up to 50 some. The more LED's the more upscale looking.
Send me your email address and I will send pictures. Not good at putting up pictures on here. You can do that if you like.

back up lights need not paint or cover clear part

Led light can be clear plastic or red plastic. Thus the lights them selves can be amber or red. If red they just show up as all red through clear and red part. Just using 3in Led stop turn trucklite light

exactly if LED lights red still clear

You can get transparent vinyl that is red and cover the clear if you like the all red look. Looks better just the way it is and let the lights just be red.
