Rotten wiring
EDIT: So we found the corroded taillight wired under the carpet. Weird thing is that there are 3 browns connected to 2 browns. The taillights work fine now, but the brake wont light up when I press down on them, any ideas? Do i need to put all the trim back in or something? Dumbfounded.....
So i've been having a problem with my taillights where they would flicker and dim etc randomly. Anyways, took it to my mechanic and they told me that under my carpet near the driver seat a connector can get rotten from the winter and water etc. He said it could get fixed but it'd take approx 6 hours. I don't want to pay that kind of money, especially if a GM tech may be able to do it quicker. Any advice on what I should do?
Is it that big of a deal to take out the carpeting and try to do it myself? What connector would be under there that i'd need to replace?
Thanks guys
Cole

Just a FYI I have an 07 and just started to do some mods, anyways I changed out my carpet the other day and noticed the wire harness that runs along the drivers side right where the rear seat begins looked like it had been pinched at the factory. Had about 3 wires about to break with bare wire exposed. I have a sedan and this is right below the little trim piece between the b pillar trim and the rear seat trim. I'm the original owner so like I said must have happened at the factory. and as someone else mentioned... not really any plugs in that area.

Okay will check it out, have any pics of where exactly it was located on your car? I have a sedan too. Also, any how-tos on how to remove the carpet?
