Question Setting the alarm

Ok so right now my remote isn't working and well I can't set the alarm on my car right?? My friend was telling me that if you hit the lock button twice on the door it sets the alarm, well i tried it and it didn't work for me.. is there any other way to set the alarm?

pretty sure if you do set it every time you open the door the alarm will go off until you start the car.

yeah hit the lock button twice on the door will arm the alarm. It won't beep the horn like when you do it with the remote it only dings the dash alarm to make sure you have the keys.

if ur remote isnt working, take it apart, the contacts for the thing that holds the battery and presses on negative may be pulled out, mine did, gotta solder them back in

How long did you wait to pull up on the lock and open the door? You have to let the alarm set before you open it. If you just lock it with the door luck, shut it and then pull up on the lock it won't go off. You have to wait a few minutes for the alarm to set...

If the battery hold down is still together, the contacts themselves on the circuit board may be worn out. They sell contact patch kits that you add into the remote that restores the connection...

You need a working remote as that is the only way to arm the factory alarm on it.

no its not i have both my stock remotes that are fucked and i lock my car with the lock button on the door (both driver and pass doesnt make a difference) every day and when i open it again with the key it activates the alarm every time

have u tried opening the passenger door? and not that it makes a difference or shouldnt but roll up the windows and use the key
